The FESSH Communication Committee introduces the Hand Surgical Oscars!
Use #handsinlondon2022 with every post related to hand surgery. The best posts will be picked and awarded prizes at IFSSH London 2022.
Prizes include textbooks such as the latest edition of Green’s, Ultrasonography for the upper limb surgeon and free admission to the next FESSH Academy.
We are looking for best technical tips, the best or more interesting office environment and for the best video explaining why you use Social Media.

International Fellows vs Professors University Challenge 18.15-18.45 Wednesday 8 June 2022 during the London Congress How good do you think your hand surgery knowledge is!? Come along and watch the International University Challenge to find out!
A brave (or crazy) team of 5 IFSSH travelling fellows, each representing their continent will take on 5 professors also from 5 continents around the world in what promises to be the most fun and interactive session of London 2022! Who will come out on top? The Fellows studying their field or the authors and academics on top of their field. Support your team and make sure you don’t miss one of the highlights of this year’s congress!
FESSH Green Survey
FESSH would like to thank all who participated in the survey regarding sustainability and green issues in hand surgery. We have had an overwhelming response with over 800 surveys completed from across the globe! Please look out for the London 2022 Green Hand Seminar discussing the survey and all issues green, which will be held on 9 June, Thursday from 12.45 (lunch time). We look forward to seeing you there!

At the IFSSH 2022 London Congress there will be a session on the workload of hand surgeons of all continents. By this survey, we want to investigate the workload of hand surgeons in Europe.

Report on the EBHS Exam MCQ 2022
66 examinees passed the EBHS Exam written part successfully on 18 March 2022 who will attend the oral part of the Exam in London on 3-5 June. The most examinees arrived from UK, Switzerland and Germany but some arrived from India, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as well.
We wish them successful practical and oral exam rounds in London!

Meet the FESSH member countries – Austria
Over centuries several notable Austrian surgeons have contributed to hand surgery: among them the first one was as early as in the XVth century Johannes Hartlieb (1400–1468) who published the earliest German-written book of hand surgery ‘Buch von der Hand’.
The ancestor of the Austrian Hand Society (ÖGH) was the German-speaking
Society of Hand Surgery (DAH: Deutschsprachige Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Handchirurgie) established in 1965 by Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
